A path leads back through flatlands flanked by stretches of trees.

 Accented by drops of moisture, even a simple fallen leaf becomes intriguing.

Poison oak turned red by the fall chill leaps upward like flame between
the still-green trees on either side.

Fall provides small gems such as the galls on this oak leaf, the work of wasp
larva that burrow into the leaves and give off a substance that forms the gall.

At the far edge of the park is this pond, quiet on a warm fall day,
its surface covered in part by a bloom of tiny yellow flowers.
